From the Snowpocalypse Onward...

So, it has been a while since I've actually blogged. Mostly because of the massive 70 inches of snow that rained down on Baltimore three weeks ago and the massive amounts of catching up I had to do for my classes (which we missed a week of), not to mention the week of recruitment events for Phi Mu that just ended this past Monday. So, here's a little update since Snowmaggedon.

Why yes, that is a car under that giant pile of snow (not mine, thank God). Let's just say I learned from the snow storm in December that one should always park their car in a parking garage whenever there is an impending snow storm. You spend less time digging out your car with a cooking pot and a dustpan then.

Snowpocalypse did bring good things however. Including jumping off the parking garage into huge snow drifts and making lopsided snowmen with my roommates Chantelle and Dinah. This was our little creation, started at around 11 pm when we decided that we could no longer sit in our apartment and do a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle that we began when the snow did. We decided that if anyone destroyed our snowman we would charge them with SNOMICIDE! Like that play on words, eh? I thought it was good.

After being delayed a few days because of the snow, spring recruitment finally started on February 15th. Our theme this year was "Classic Movies." At our Bid Day, we got six amazing and wonderful new girls--Bri, Rachel, Marley, Melanie, Katie, and Krista--and we are already all in love with them!

My friend Maria and I on Bid Day this Spring. I'm a Phi Mu and she's a Phi Sigma Sigma, but we still love each other and are great friends. This totally proves that you can be in different chapters and still be great friends because "No matter the letter, Greeks do it better."

After the Blizzard finally (and thankfully) passed and we went back to school, we had our sorority's fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network in the form of Vera Bradley Bingo! We raised over $2,000 for CMN and the event was a HUGE success. My Mommy even drove to Baltimore straight from work to come play and see me. One of our alumni, Rachel brought her newborn daughter, such a cutie, wearing a "Phi Mu Legacy" onesie, and one of our other sisters, Rebecca's, sister came with her 10-month-old daughter. So adorable! It was an amazing event and definitely a lot of fun!
Until next time folks! It's getting late. Oh, did I mention I turn 21 on Monday? =)
